Miguel Alquezada is a graphic designer and multidisciplinary artist. He graduated from Rutgers University – Camden and won the Rutgers University – Camden Envisioneer Award in Graphic Design for pushing the boundaries of the field. Miguel interned with the Rutgers Camden Fine Arts Department, where he assisted in redesigning the department's visual identity — from color research to brand identity research.
Rutgers University – Camden Students' Works Gallery showcased Miguel's first paper dresses, which they featured in the Students' Works Gallery Best of 2018 exhibition.
Nominated for the Award of Excellence in 2022 for his collaborative role on the Drexel.edu core site team project — from strategy and SEO optimization to the physical content overhaul from one database to another.
Receiving a scholarship in 2024 from TypeElectives to expand his creative horizon in the discipline of typography. Miguel's focus during the summer course concentrated on layering graphic design principles with typography, fine art, and folk art — tied to his indigenous ancestral connection to Puebla, Mexico, and Yucatán, Guatemala.
Miguel, born and raised in Bridgeton, New Jersey, enjoys illustrating experimental typography, gardening, antiquing, reading, and is a research enthusiast. Miguel holds a B.A. in Graphic Design from Rutgers University – Camden.
